Full Angle Beam Divergence

This is the angle at which the laser beam diverges, or spreads out shown in milliradians. The smaller the number, the tighter the beam remains over a longer distance. All laser beams will increase the beam diameter over distance but higher quality optics can reduce the divergence angle which results in brighter beams over a longer distance. Lower divergence values are better in almost all cases but tend to increase the laser cost.

Example :

  • 0.5 mrad ~ 0.03º
  • 1.0 mrad ~ 0.06º
  • 1.5 mrad ~ 0.09º
  • 1.8 mrad ~ 0.1º
  • 2.5 mrad ~ 0.14º
  • 5.0 mrad ~ 0.29º
